Pompeo: with Naryshkin in Washington discussed terrorism

The leaders of the Russian special services Sergey Naryshkin, Alexander Bortnikov and Igor Korobov came to Washington to discuss a joint fight against terrorism. This is stated in the letter of the head of the CIA Michael Pompeo Senator Chaka Schumer, reports The Washington Examiner.

In a letter, Pompeo insists that although Russia remains the opponent of the States, the lack of cooperation between the special services of the two countries in the fight against terrorism "would have exposed to greater risk of" the life of the Americans. According to the head of the CIA, the practice of such cooperation took place with its predecessors.

The Director of the CIA added that the meetings of representatives of the special services of the two countries do not consider issues "in which American and Russian interests do not coincide."

On Thursday, the representative of the State Department of Hizer Neurt, answering the question of the possibility of entering the US Russian security forces in the United States, said that Washington could "temporarily suspend the introduced visa restrictions in the interests of national security. She noted that, despite the contradictions, the United States should “cooperate” with the Russian authorities on some issues, including the fight against terrorism and, in particular, with the Islamic State.

About the visit of Naryshkin included in the sanctions list of Washington, on Wednesday reported The New York Daily News. It was claimed that the head of the SVR met with the head of the US National Intelligence Dan Cowts and other representatives of the American intelligence community. On Thursday, it became known that the leaders of the GRU and the FSB Cobrov and Bortnikov participated in the negotiations, against which visa sanctions were also imposed.
