Bitcoin rate dropped below seven thousand dollars

The bitcoin rate fell below seven thousand dollars on February 5, according to data from the CoinDesk service, which tracks the cost of cryptocurrency on various exchanges.

On the morning of February 5, the bitcoin exchange rate exceeded eight thousand dollars. By 23:00 Moscow time, the price of the cryptocurrency dropped to a daily low of $6,587. By midnight the exchange rate rose slightly again; at 00:13 Moscow time it was $6,971.

• At its peak in December 2017, the bitcoin exchange rate reached 20 thousand dollars; after that, the cryptocurrency began to become cheaper. The fall in its value is associated, among other things, with the restrictions that the Chinese government imposes on bitcoin. The Chinese authorities have banned the mining (creation) of bitcoins in the country, and have also decided to block all sites related to the trading of cryptocurrencies and the initial offering of tokens (ICO).
