Volunteer of Navalny’s headquarters was fined for a post with the picture “We can repeat it”

The Maykop City Court fined Navalny's campaign volunteer Pavel Mikhailichenko 2,000 rubles. He was found guilty of publicly displaying Nazi symbols (Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The young man himself told about this OVD-Info.

The reason for the case was a post on Vkontakte with a critical anti-war text by Echo columnist Anton Orekh about the Victory Parade and the celebration of the end of World War II. Two photos are attached to the post. Employees of the Center “E” were attracted by a photograph of a car with a sticker on the rear window with the inscription “If you want, we can repeat it!” and "Thank you grandfather for the victory!". On a sketchy sticker, men with a swastika and a hammer and sickle inscribed in their heads are having sex.

Mikhailichenko said that several times the district police officer persuaded him to go to the police station without a summons. According to him, on Saturday, February 3, they nevertheless brought a summons to his home and took him to the police department. First, he was taken to the district police station in the village of Khanskaya, and then to the duty unit in the city of Maikop. In the first precinct, a report on the offense was drawn up for the young man, and in the second, on detention. He was fingerprinted and left at the second precinct overnight until trial. In the morning, Mikhailichenko was allowed to familiarize himself with the protocol: “It’s just a phantasmagoria - it turns out that in order to reveal that there really is a swastika in that picture, a cultural and phenomenological study was carried out by a candidate of philosophical sciences,” Mikhailichenko told OVD-Info.

At the meeting, the volunteer admitted his guilt. The judge asked him to come on Tuesday "for a final ruling" and noted that the law also provides for the confiscation of the device from which the violation was committed. The young man is afraid that his laptop or phone will be confiscated, he intends to appeal this.

• According to Art. 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (propaganda or public display of Nazi paraphernalia or symbols) people are fined and arrested for any display of Nazi symbols, regardless of the context.
