Most major Russian publications ignored the FBK investigation about Oleg Deripaska and Sergey Prikhodko, but quoted a refutation from Deripaska

On Thursday, February 8, the Corruption Foundation (FBK) published an investigation that described in detail how the deputy chairman of the government Sergey Prikhodko rode in Northern Europe on a billionaire of billionaire Oleg Deripaska. The investigation was built on the blogs and book of a girl from the escort agency Nastya Pyat, which is dedicated to her attitude with the oligarch. Navalny considers the story of the yacht a manifestation of corruption and requires the resignation of the official.

The reaction of the Russian media on the day of publication of the investigation was very limited. Of the major publications about the investigation, only Znak.com, Newsru.com, Echo of Moscow, Medusa, Mediazone, Rain, Radio Liberty.

Alexey Navalny himself immediately drew attention to the weak lighting of the materials - in his author’s program on the Navalny Live channel, he drew attention to this and stated that the current situation illustrates censorship in the media. At the same time, in the Western media (in particular, in Telegraph and The Washington Post ), materials appeared on the day of publication of the investigation.

Some Russian publications did not respond to the investigation itself, but to how his heroine - Nastya Rybka reacted to the FBK report.

In her Instagram, she first thanked Navalny (for the fact that now she can tell her the whole truth), and then declared a group rape that took place on a yacht. She urged Deripaska to marry her and threatened the trial in court. However, then she called her words a joke and “trolling”. Many media outlets, despite the quick refutation, talked about her fake news. In particular, the news appeared on the Zvezda television channel - Nastya Rybka threatened to marry Deripaska. In this news there is no information about the investigation of Navalny and Prikhodko is not mentioned. The fish itself in the text is called a model and a blogger, and about what the fish reacted to there is not reported there.

The next day, the materials began to appear in key business media, but they were submitted as a refutation of the information that Deripaska himself made. So, in Kommersant , the material “Oleg Deripaska has appeared to the court for Alexei Navalny”. It briefly retold an investigation, the main information in the article is the reaction of Deripaska representatives. Deripaska himself commented on Navalny’s information on his Instagram, calling the text of the FBK “a false information stream”. After the appearance of numerous negative comments, he closed access to discuss this post.

In RBC on Friday, two materials appeared, also filed in the format of the refutation of Navalny's words. The first material was dedicated to the commentary of the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, “The Kremlin refused to comment on the posts of Prikhodko and Deripaska's rest.” A minute after the first material appeared and the second “Deripaska was threatened by the court for“ creating a false information flow ”. In it, the emphasis is on the reaction of the billionaire.

As a result, the news “Peskov” refused to comment on the next “investigation” of Navalny ”in the top of Yandex-News. Meanwhile, the “view” and “Rambler” continued to discuss the consequences of the fish statements - there was no information about the investigation there

In the key of refutation from Deripaska or Peskov, the material “Interfax”, “Lentu”, “Gazeta.Ru”, as well as state news agencies, were presented. As a result, in the top of Yandex-News, as of 15:00, the news was “Peskov refused to comment on the next“ investigation ”of Navalny.” Meanwhile, the “view” and “Rambler” continued to discuss the consequences of the fish statements - there was no information about the investigation there.

Russian Forbes, New Gazeta, Republic, as well as federal channels on the topic did not speak out.

This was written by Navalny himself, accusing private media in the "murzilic" position. “This, by the way, to my discussion with all sorts of media owners there, criticized the points of my program that the oligarchs in Russia should be limited in the right to own the media.
