The launch of the Soyuz-2.1A launch vehicle with the cargo ship Progress MS-08, planned at 11:58:45 Moscow time on February 11 from Baikonur, was postponed to the reserve date of February 13.
According to the press service of Roscosmos, this happened due to the automatic shutdown of the engines at the start. The reasons for the incident are clarified.
According to the RIA Novosti source in the rocket and space area, the re -start will take place on Tuesday, February 13, at 11:13 Moscow time, and the joining of the ISS - February 15 at 13:45.
The interlocutor of the agency said that on Sunday the rocket could not start at the calculated time, presumably due to problems with the on-board digital computing machine.
For the first time in history, the space truck "Progress MS-08" was supposed to go to the ISS in a super-short-legged two-step scheme and get to the station in three hours 27 minutes.
Initially, according to the same scheme, it was planned to send the Progress MS-07. However, on October 12 last year, automation also canceled the launch. At the backup date, the ballistic conditions no longer allowed to send a truck according to an accelerated scheme.
Now the fastest way to get to the ISS is a flight according to a four -pin scheme that takes about six hours.
"Progress MS-08" should deliver 1390 kilograms of dry cargo, fuel, water and cylinders with compressed air and oxygen to the ISS. In the cargo compartment, scientific equipment has been laid down, components for the life support system, as well as containers with products, clothing, drugs and personal hygiene products for crew members.
Before re-launch on a rocket launcher, they can replace the on-board computer
Specialists at the Baikonur cosmodrome study the possibility of replacing the on-board computer on the Soyuz-2.1A carrier-launch vehicle on the eve of the re-attempt to launch the progress-MS08 space truck, Interfax reports with reference to a source on the cosmodrome.
"Most likely, it will take a replacement of the board computer of the launch vehicle or adjusting its software with subsequent loading. Now this issue is being studied," the source said.
He confirmed that the re -launch may be scheduled for the first half of Tuesday. "Tentatively, the launch can be scheduled for February 13 at 11:13 in Moscow," the source said.
