A new building will be built for the Council

For the Federation Council, it is supposed to build a new building in the neighborhood with the current, located on Bolshaya Dmitrovka. It is reported by Kommersant.

Design and construction costs are laid down in the federal targeted investment program. This year, 60 million rubles were allocated for the development of the project, 1.63 billion for construction in 2019-2020. To free up the place for the new building, the old house of the building will be demolished. It is claimed, it is dilapidated.

The customer of the project is the Office of the President (UDP) - it is responsible for the operation of all buildings of the highest authorities. The design was entrusted to the research center "Construction", which is led by the former chief architect of Moscow Alexander Kuzmin. To develop a plan for the construction site of the NIC "Construction", he turned to the subcontractor - "Mosge Previsa".

There should be eight floors in the new building, of which two underground. It will be connected by the transition with the current one. The new building will accommodate 90 out of 170 senators, as well as officials of the Office of the Council. Now they all work in a building on New Arbat, in another part of the center of Moscow. This building after the construction of the new building is supposed to be released and transferred to the UDP.

Also in the new building there will be rooms for 17 members of the Council appointed under the presidential quota. Amendments on the appointment of senators by the head of state were included in the Constitution in 2014, but so far the corresponding places in the upper house are vacant.

Last week, the publication reported that this year it was also planned to reconstruct the State Duma building on Okhotny. It is supposed to expand the meeting room, and build a dome on the roof of the building.

A few years ago, in the area, the minters in the northwest of the capital planned to build a single parliamentary center, which would have been located both wards of the Federal Assembly. However, in the future they abandoned this idea.
