Director of the Russian Academic Youth Theater (RAMT) Sofya Apfelbaum received the award of the chairman of the Union of Theater Workers Alexander Kalyagin.

- Sofya Apfelbaum is the defendant in the Seventh Studio case; besides her, there are five more defendants in the case, including director Kirill Sereberennikov. According to investigators, employees of the "Seventh Studio" stole budget money allocated for the cultural project "Platform". The damage in the case is estimated at 133 million rubles; the Ministry of Culture was recognized as the injured party.
- The award of the chairman of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia has existed since 2002 and is awarded to representatives of theatrical professions by the personal decision of the head of the union, Alexander Kalyagin. The winner of the award also receives a reward of 150 thousand rubles.
- Kalyagin called the Seventh Studio case a sign of a "campaign to discredit the cultural sphere" and called for a revision of the laws governing creative processes.
