After interrogation, the investigator of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow refused to release the anarchist Elena Gorban on her own recognizance and detained her. The activist suspected of vandalism will spend the night in a temporary detention facility, lawyer Svetlana Sidorkina told Mediazona.
The lawyer suggests that tomorrow the investigators may charge the activist with a more serious charge and go to court with a petition for arrest.
Now Elena Gorban is a suspect under Part 1 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code (vandalism). She admits her guilt.
The case of vandalism was opened after an action on January 31 near the United Russia office in the Khovrino district of Moscow, when unknown persons broke the glass in the office and threw a smoke bomb inside. Elena Gorban was detained on the morning of February 13; after a search, a lawyer was not allowed to see her for four hours. During this time, the detainee admitted her guilt.
According to OVD-Info, in the Moscow district of Novogireevo, police with a search warrant are trying to get into the apartment of another anarchist. He doesn't let them in because he's waiting for the lawyer to arrive.
