Representatives of the company confirm the lack of restrictions on access to the social network, also assuring the laws of China and block for local residents illegal for the Middle Kingdom.
China authorities unlocked VKontakte in the country, representatives of the company said.
The site and mobile applications have become available again. This is confirmed by a specially created service to check the blocking of Internet resources by the PRC authorities:
Access for Chinese users to VKontakte was limited in the PRC in January 2016. Then, in all of China, both the desktop and mobile version of the social network was blocked. The lack of blocking is confirmed by other service specially created for this - in all provinces the social network is available, which you can’t say, for example, about "classmates" who fell into the disgrace of the Chinese authorities in March last year:
In VKontakte, they assured that the social network would observe the laws of China in the country and block materials illegal in China for local residents. The company achieved unlock as a result of "constructive communication with local regulators":
“In his work, VKontakte practices a hybrid moderation method.
The first stage is the incoming complaints of users and social activists. In the case of using the “complain” button, the VKontakte moderation reaction time does not exceed one hour, but usually is a few minutes.
The second stage is an internal proactive moderation. Moderators receive a signal about the decision made from the first stage and launch a machine search for the content prohibited by the rules on the entire site, which is blocked and makes it impossible to download copies in the future. ”
“VKontakte complies with the laws of the countries in which it works. If communities and users distribute materials contrary to local legislation, such pages are blocked for residents of the relevant country, ”the social network reports .
The press service of VKontakte added that the blocked communities for the 16+ and 18+ audience will remain inaccessible "on the basis of the decision of local governing bodies." In January 2018, the communities of the magazine “Around the World”, “Dvach”, “Degradach”, “Advertising masterpieces” and others turned out to be prohibited.
