Rostourism discovered 69 hotels that inflate prices before the 2018 World Cup

Rostourism specialists plan to conduct checks of hotel pricing policies twice a month in anticipation of the World Cup. Kommersant about this Department representative Svetlana Sergeeva told . The department's latest audit identified 69 hotels, the owners of which, according to officials, unjustifiably inflate prices. Of these, nine hotels are located in Moscow, 26 in St. Petersburg, and 12 in the Krasnodar Territory.

The maximum price increase – by 833% – was recorded in the Kaliningrad hotel and bath complex “Three Peskarya”, where accommodation in a room cost 20,000 rubles. with a recommended price of 2400 rubles.

The list of hotels that inflate prices will be submitted to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) and Rospotrebnadzor. Violators may be subject to administrative fines.

In February 2016, the government established the maximum cost of hotel accommodation in cities hosting the World Cup. For Moscow, the maximum cost of single occupancy per night should not be more than 6,970 rubles, for “3 stars” the maximum is 28,000 rubles, and for “5 stars” – 650,000 rubles. For St. Petersburg, the range is fixed from 7,000 to 700,000 rubles.

The first blacklist of the Federal Tourism Agency, compiled on January 19, included 41 hotels. The identified violations were eliminated.
