Sobchak demands from the Armed Forces to cancel Putin's registration as a candidate

Presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak sent a statement to the Supreme Court with a request to cancel the registration of Vladimir Putin as a candidate in the March elections of the head of state. This was reported on the website of the headquarters of Sobchak.

Until 2009, Article 81 of the Constitution established that the same person cannot occupy the presidential term of more than two terms. Then, at the initiative of the then President Dmitry Medvedev, the norm was edited - now the same person is forbidden to occupy the post of head of state more than two cadents in a row, but a ban on new nominations in the future, after a break, was lifted.

This gave Putin the opportunity to nominate in 2012 for the next presidential term. Now he is going on for the second term in a row, that is, from the point of view of the current version of the Constitution, his nomination is legitimate.

However, Sobchak insists that the transfer of power to Medvedev for 2008-2012 was fictitious and the country was actually ruled by the same Putin, who then held the post of Prime Minister. She refers in particular to her own confessions of Putin and Medvedev, who had repeatedly done in an interview.
