The coordinator of Navalny's headquarters in Bryansk was arrested for five days

The Bezhetsky District Court of Bryansk arrested the coordinator of the local strike headquarters, Alexei Navalny, Alexander Markin, for five days. On February 12, the headquarters staff reported this in their group on the VKontakte social network. Markin is under arrest in the city of Suzemka, 160 kilometers from Bryansk.

The court found Markin guilty of repeated violation by the organizer of the procedure for holding a public event (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). According to the investigation, in the autumn Markin organized a picket during the distribution of leaflets.

Headquarters employees note that the leaflets were recognized as agitation without examination. They also draw attention to the fact that the judge rejected requests to call witnesses to court.
