Transbaikalia: SK conducts searches in agricultural enterprises of the region

Investigators began searches in a number of agricultural enterprises of the Trans-Baikal Territory after the arrest of the ex-minister of agriculture of the region Mikhail Kuzminov, TASS reports.

According to the press service of the investigation department of the region, we are talking about a significant number of enterprises, but their names are not disclosed.

On February 12, the court placed Kuzminov under house arrest on suspicion of exceeding official powers. His deputy Irina Malakshina was detained until February 15.

Earlier it was reported that officials are suspected of exceeding their official powers when paying federal subsidies related to compensation for damage to agricultural producers from drought in 2016. They illegally demanded from the recipients of subsidies to fulfill a number of conditions for allocating money. At least seven entrepreneurs in the amount of more than 10.5 million rubles were damaged from the actions of officials.
