
The Ministry of Culture at once drew up five new protocols on an administrative offense against the Moscow cinema "Pioneer" for showing the film "Death of Stalin" without a rental certificate. This was reported by Kommersant with reference to lawyer Julia Tai, representing the interests of the cinema.
Officials regarded each show of Stalin's Death on January 25 and 26 as a separate offense. Three protocols were made in article 1 of article Article 14.58 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (demonstration of a film without a rental certificate) and two in part 2 of this article (repeated violation).
According to the law, a re -showing a film without a rental certificate may lead to a closing of the cinema for three months. This will happen if the court in three instances confirms the fact of an offense, and then a repeated violation, the lawyer Tai said.
As a violation of the Ministry of Culture also interprets the fact that in the EAIS electronic system there were 16 tickets sold for this film, for which the money was not returned. The lawyer explained that these tickets were bought for cash and people did not come to the cinema for a return. The Ministry of Culture transferred the protocols to the magistrate court, the date of consideration has not yet been scheduled.
The English comedy "Death of Stalin" was supposed to be released on January 25. However, two days before, the Ministry of Culture recalled a rental certificate from the film . Officials referred to the fact that in the tape there may be "information, the distribution of which is prohibited by law." The next day, the head of the department, Vladimir Medinsky, said that the film was sent for an additional examination. "Many people of the older generation" will perceive the film "as an offensive mockery of the entire Soviet past," the official claimed.
Despite the review of the certificate, Pioneer on January 25, the only cinema was demonstrated by Stalin's Death in three sessions.
