A student was detained near the Moscow State University building with leaflets against the fan zone

Student Artyom Yegorov was detained near the MSU building, who was holding leaflets with information about the protest against the construction of a fan zone for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on the territory of MSU. Yegorov himself told Novaya Gazeta about this.

According to him, he had three flyers and a sticker on his chest. Also next to him were several people from the Initiative Group of Moscow State University, who also had leaflets. Egorov, together with other members of the Initiative Group, planned to make a small "performance", "with inscriptions on faces against the fan zone."

“I went with two leaflets to the edge of the crowd around the rector and with a sticker on my chest, I raised the leaflet so that he could see it. Immediately, his “guard” of hired students ran up to me, who were promised some bonuses for this work. The flyer was torn out and torn. They started to push me away, but I took out the second leaflet, and they also tore it, ”said Yegorov.

After that, the student tried to approach from the other side, but the police immediately ran up to him. The law enforcement officer said that he had received a complaint and that he had been detained for campaigning. The policeman took a picture of a student with a leaflet and took away his student ID.

Yegorov was taken to the police station, after which the police officers told the student that it was just a document check, they would not draw up any protocol, and then they released him.

Some students of Moscow State University oppose the construction of a fan zone as part of the 2018 World Cup on the territory of the University. The MSU initiative group began collecting signatures demanding that the fan zone be moved to other venues.
