Navalny's phone, missing from the administrative case file, was returned

Politician Alexei Navalny was given back his phone, which was confiscated during his arrest on January 28. He himself wrote about this on his blog.

“An interesting detail: the police confiscated the device, but they also packed it in a “Police” envelope. I signed it. And the police also returned it, but in an “Investigative Committee” envelope,” Navalny said.

The day before, the politician's lawyer Olga Mikhailova reported that the Tverskoy Court of Moscow returned the materials of the administrative case against Navalny to the police due to the loss of material evidence - a phone and a SIM card. Navalny himself wrote a statement to the Investigative Committee due to the loss of a seized iPhone 7 and SIM card. According to the politician, since the phone and SIM card were not handed over to the court, he concluded that they could have been stolen by employees of the police department in the Yakimanka district.

On January 28, Navalny, who was detained at the rally, was released from the department on an obligation to appear. Later, on February 12, a protocol was drawn up against the politician under Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (repeated violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding mass events).
