UEFA found no violations during the re-check of doping samples of Russian football players from Euro 2012

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has rechecked the doping samples of Russian national team players from the 2012 European Championship. This was reported by the press service of the International Football Federation (FIFA), reports TASS.

“UEFA has recently re-analyzed samples taken from the players of the Russian national team who played at the European Championship 2012, using the latest developments and methods of WADA laboratories. All results were negative," the statement said.

It is also noted that the doping tests of the players of the Russian national team from the 2014 World Cup, the 2016 European Championship and the 2017 Confederations Cup gave a negative result.

Earlier, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) informed FIFA that 34 football players appear in the report of an independent WADA commission led by Richard McLaren on doping in Russia.

In January, the football association sent a request to the Russian Football Union (RFU) with data on the samples of 11 players. The RFU made a request to RUSADA, from where the answer came about the cleanliness of the players.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko said that FIFA, after analyzing data on 11 players, is investigating only two players: Ruslan Kambolov and Ivan Knyazev, who did not play at the World and European Championships.
