
On February 21, the Moscow City Court refused to renew the deadline for house arrest at the prosecutor's office to the former head of Rusnano Leonid Melamed and the former financial director of the organization Svyatoslav Ponurov. It is reported by Interfax .
As the prosecutor said, "it turns out that they will be released." Lawyers explained that Melamed and Ponurov would be released from house arrest on the night of February 22.
The Moscow City Court also recognized the decision to return to the prosecutor's office of the criminal case against Melamed, Rapsei reports . The Cheremushkino court of Moscow in December 2017 decided to return Melamed's business to the prosecutor’s office “in connection with contradictions”.
Melamed and Ponurov are accused of embezzlement of more than 226 million rubles in Rusnano. In this case, the former deputy head of the corporation Andrei Malyshev, who was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list.
In May 2017, Melamed and Ponurov was released from house arrest, and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent their business to an additional investigation into the Investigative Committee. However, Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika immediately canceled the decision of his deputy Viktor Grin to return Melamed's case for the investigation, after which he and Ponurov were again sent under house arrest.
The case against Melamed was opened in July 2015. According to investigators, Melamed, being the head of Rusnano, signed a contract with Alemar. At the same time, Melamed was a co -owner of this company, and with the help of this contract illegally transferred about 220 million rubles to himself.
