American manufacturer of inflatable orbital modules will launch its own space stations

The American company Bigelow Aerospace has created a subsidiary of Bigelow Space Operations (BSO) for the operation and sale of orbital space stations that the parent organization will develop. This was reported in the press release of Bigelow Aerospace.

The company develops two inhabited modules - B330–1 and B330–2, which may be prepared to be sent to orbit in 2021. In the future, Bigelow Aerospace plans to build a single space station, 2.4 times higher than the ISS; Its management will also be engaged in BSO.

The founder of the company Robert Bigelou noted that he was welcoming the decision of US President Donald Trump by 2025 to abandon the state funding of the ISS, reports CNBC. Bigelou added that he had not yet discussed with the White House possible competition with NASA.

Bigelow Aerospace is engaged in the development of inflatable orbital modules using “cosmic fabric”. In 2016, the BEAM (Bigelow Expandable Activity Module), created by the company, was addicted to the American segment of the ISS. Testing the module is designed for two years.

In mid -February, the US Presidential Administration proposed to curtail the direct financing of the ISS in six years, at the same time starting a program for the development of the commercial space industry. The Trump administration asked the Congress to allocate $ 150 million to the program.
