Peter Osbourne will give a lecture at the "Vinzavod"

On March 1, the Philosophical Club of the Center for Contemporary Art “Vinzavod” and the British Council in Russia will present the lecture “I, you, we, it: Trans spyalism as the subject of modernity” by the British philosopher and theorist of art Peter Osborne.

The lecture will take place in the Krasnoye CSI workshop “Vinzavod”, beginning at 19:30, the entrance is free by preliminary registration .

In his lecture, Peter Osborn will consider the relationship between such historical structures as innocent ( Modern ) and modern ( Contemporary ). In the center of his analysis - the definition of subjectivity given in the “General Linguistics” by Emil Armenian (categories of time, face and pronoun), as well as the concept of “transcendental”, which has a long philosophical tradition.

What does it mean to be a co-time subject? Do we simply exist “at the same time” with our contemporaries, or is the present more and more characterized by a collection of various, but equally “real” times? Is such subjectivity formed individually or collectively in constant mutual exchange with others? Guests of the Philosophy Club "Vincuvod", together with Peter Osborne, will be able to answer these and other questions.

Peter Osbourne (born 1958) is a professor of modern European philosophy and director of the Center for Research of Modern European Philosophy ( CreMP ) at the Kingston University (London), from 1983 to 2016 he was a leading member of the editorial board of the British magazine Radical Philosophy .
