In Tatarstan, the charge against the accused of inciting hatred has been reclassified

The Sovetsky District Court of Kazan extended the arrest of Oleg Detkin, accused of inciting hatred, until March 29. This was reported on the website "Idel. Realities".

Detkin was detained on October 30, 2017 on suspicion of inciting hatred and enmity (Part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, since 2015, Detkin has been posting on his page on the social network publications of “extremist content containing humiliating characteristics, negative emotional assessments and attitudes towards representatives of various nationalities, calling for actions aimed at inciting racial, national and social hatred” . At first, paragraph “c” of the article appeared in the case - “a group of persons”, but at today's meeting it turned out that the charge was prequalified for part 1 of Art. 282 - that is, according to the investigation, Detkin published extremist materials alone.

In court, the defendant said that 4 months in prison is a sufficient punishment for the Internet:

The fact that my comments there are overly emotional ... I tried to be honest with myself. I believe that I will no longer go to the computer, to this page, if the comments and pictures lead to this ...

On January 29, the court had already extended the measure of restraint for Detkin.
