The list of professions prohibited for women must be reviewed, but this will not be the powers of employers. The Minister of Labor and Social Protection Maxim Topilin told reporters about this, as RIA Novosti reports.
“The list must be reviewed. Of course, some professions should leave, because working conditions are improved, but this will not be the powers of employers,” said the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Russia Maxim Topilin to journalists on Tuesday.
Earlier it became known that the company "Russian Railways" intends to offer the government to cancel the general list of professions that are forbidden to accept women. The departmental newspaper "Guuck" wrote on Monday that Russian Railways offers to give companies the opportunity to accept internal lists themselves in agreement with trade unions. The criteria for including a profession in the list should be an assessment of working conditions, professional risks and harm to health.
“The ban on the work of women with us was justified by the harmful factors related to vibration, because the freight and passenger locomotives were not too comfortable,” said Irina Kostenets, adviser to the Director General of Russian Railways.
Now such a list is approved by the Russian government, it belongs to a number of harmful industries and industries, including railway workers; The current document was approved in 2000. It includes a number of professions related to the railway, including the driver and assistant driver of the locomotive, the compiler of the train, the battery and the compiler of the wagons.
One of the reasons for the discussion was that women are now forbidden to be driver and assistants of the driver, although there are no such prohibitions for women-pilots in aviation.
