Science in short pants

This release of my favorite newspaper comes out between two wonderful holidays, the first of which is called the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland, and the second - International Women's Day. Between, so to speak, male and female days. Obviously, colleagues, that where there are men and women, children sometimes happen there, so let it not seem surprising to you that I am not writing about the defenders of the Fatherland and not about beautiful ladies, but about children.

Children, yes, it is children that are the most sacred and important for us! This is our future, so we need to do everything for their comprehensive development, so that honest, decent, creative and responsible people grow out of them, and not all sorts of slopes and nonsense like us.

It would seem that this is obvious, but, alas, there are those for whom greed and selfishness are alpha, beta, gamma and omega of their existence. No poor, unhappy children, no orphan tears are able to break through the gap in their selfish complacency.

These are such cruel people and begin to swear at the leadership of the RFFI regarding the distribution of funds between various types of contests. How so, they scream, almost ten billion rubles were additionally allocated to the fund, and only a billion with a small one added to the main competition of initiative projects in the fields of knowledge of the knowledge of the RFFI. As a result, it was not possible to return to the old standards of selection of projects. But three billion has been added to youth competitions, and now almost five billion rubles will be spent on the program support for talented youth “from a schoolboy to a doctor of sciences”!

From the student, they shout, think about it - from the schoolboy! Where are the schoolchildren, and where is the fundamental research?! Science, you see, in short pants. Spherence, mockery and idiocy are their conclusion.

Well, my colleagues are dear, you can’t be so categorical. It is unlikely that Academician Panchenko wants to distribute Grants of the RFFI with a obstaring minor moron. There are young talents, young, and early, who can start not only to gnaw, but also to digest the granite of science, to extend its horizons. Apparently, the fund seeks to find such, so to speak, an early diagnosis of geniuses.

What is there a school: another peanut with such a serious look picks in the nose that it immediately becomes clear - this is the future Lomonosov! And the other is so funny that you see - purely Einstein.

However, schoolchildren are not the only claim to our progressive public to the leadership of the RFFI. It announced contests " in the thematic areas formed by the Fund for the implementation of the Strategy of the Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation, carried out by scientists on the basis of an interdisciplinary approach ." And then some began to hiss: again, they say, lottery, again, a specific formulation of the theme. For everything, they say, there is money, except for competition “A”: there are miserable 700 thousand per year they give a grant, and here from 3 to 6 million, as in the RNF.

Colleagues, relatives, what will you do for 700 thousand? But specially selected people have a chance to do something in six million. So there is nothing to cling to your worthless grants “A”, you need to begin to think strategically and interdisciplinary.

I think that the roots of dissatisfaction with the authorities of the Russian Federation are understandable: our progressive scientific community Mikhail Valentinovich Kovalchuk does not like, and Vladislav Yakovlevich Panchenko is his faithful associate. That's all.

By the way, no matter how much this audience barks on the Russian interdisciplinary nanogur, its caravan continues to go. More recently, there were reports that the Ministry of Defense proposes to appoint Mikhail Valentinovich as the supervisor of the military innovative technopolis based on the ERA Center in Anapa. Technopolis will be created " in order to search, develop and introduce advanced ideas and developments, breakthrough technologies in the interests of Russia's defense capabilities ." And let the Washington regional committee tremble now: our defense capabilities will soon rise to an unprecedented height! Including, it is possible, and by the forces of yesterday's schoolchildren.
