Intourist and lack of rules

Strictly speaking, both the name “Intourist” and the person who started it are familiar to many. “Intourist” is the new project of Evgeny Gorbunov, known for the rock band “GSH” , the Interchain techno-Duet and the improvisation ensemble “RTS”. And once earlier he played and sang in the NRKTK group, which is still remembered. Intourist has just released the first single “My Father’s Man”. At the project concerts, the nearest of which will be held on March 3 at the Powerhouse club, different musicians will join Evgeny Gorbunov, but the creative product that goes under this brand - not only notes, lives, but also animation videos - will be exclusively on his conscience. The creator of Intourist told why he needs another group.

“Intourist” is a project in which I carry out my sick fantasies born, as a rule, suddenly in a matter of minutes. The thing is that I used to think over arrangements, I tried to structure everything, calculated how the drama of the song or track would develop, polished texts, parties, etc., but at some point I realized that I was tired of this approach. I was so trained in all my groups that I can write songs without the intervention of reason, you just need to finally afford it. About that and project.

Now at concerts I am focused on songs and different options for their performance, that is, at any concert they do not sound the same as in the previous one. Because sometimes I play the only one, with a guitar and a looper or with some other devices, and sometimes together with one of the friends-this each time introduces an element of surprise, everything moves, changes, although there are already established parties and texts.

I also try to release cartoons painted in the spirit of late -Soviet animation at least once a month, and write abstract soundtracks to these cartoons.

Actually, my album is already ready for the “business trip” - half of the songs, half of abstractions. “My father’s man” is the first single from the album, but when the plate itself comes out, I can’t say for sure.

Another important point: the song is not the main thing for me, and there is nothing main and secondary at all, this is such a project without rules, a certain composition, genre and some kind of strategy. So far, some songs are similar to the post -package, but I give free rein to the sentiments and record everything as I am in a dilapidated union in 1989, it directly sits in me and asks outside, and since I decided to allow myself anything, even if it was so. Recently, we very coolly overtook several songs with the drummer Vitya Glazunov, and there is already a completely different sound. At the concert of March 3, where Glazunov and Midborn are involved, there will be samples, synthesizers and a minimum of these my favorite garbage 80s, and no less garbage 2010s will be no less, where the same post-Soviet rotten is covered with glossy plastic and aluminum panels.

In general, “Intourist” is the tyranny and swelling of my own ego. Partly, I experiment on myself when sometimes after the full -willed large concerts of Interchain or “GS” I am left alone with a guitar among a completely unprepared public, which, in principle, has something to do besides seeing this ugliness. And at these moments I am very interesting and fun!
