The court returned Navalny's administrative case to the police for the second time

The Tverskoy District Court returned the administrative case of Alexei Navalny to the police for the second time. He is accused of repeated violation of the order of the action due to participation in the “Voter Strike”. This was reported by Vedomosti with reference to court press secretary Svetlana Maksimova.

She told the publication that the reason for returning to the police was violations in the case materials, which prevented its consideration on the merits.

Navalny tweeted that police had arrived at his office. They reported that the meeting scheduled for March 5 was cancelled, but they themselves did not know why. In a conversation with Mediazona, the politician commented on the current situation: “The cunning plan, obviously, is for me to come out as early as April 5, missing both the voting day itself and all suitable dates for possible protest rallies.”

On February 15, the Tverskoy District Court already returned Navalny’s case to the police due to the lack of material evidence in the materials that the police took during the arrest - the politician was not given the seized phone and SIM card. Two days later, the police returned his mobile phone after he contacted the Investigative Committee with a complaint about the theft.

On February 21, law enforcement officers came to the oppositionist’s office and brought him a paper demanding him to appear to draw up a report.

• On the day of the “Voter Strike,” the politician was detained at a rally in Moscow. On January 31, a report was drawn up against Navalny under Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code. Then he was released “pending trial” - on his website, the politician explained this by saying that they wanted to put him under arrest during the elections.
