
Arrested in Argentina, Alexander Chikalo, who is called one of the defendants in the “cocaine case”, was born in Vladivostok in 1980, three of his classmates told Republic, asking not to call their names.
After graduating from school, he, along with his parents, emigrated to Latin America. Chikalo worked as a mechanic on the ship: one interlocutor claims that it was a fishing trawler, another source notes that we are talking about a vessel related to oil production. In the photograph, which is at the disposal of Republic, Chikalo is captured in the hold of the ship, his colleague holds in his hands the instructions for Spanish for technical work on the vessel.
Chikalo came to Russia several times in recent years: to meet classmates, to the funeral of a friend and “in his work”, which he did not tell anyone about, the interlocutors of Republic said. In 2015, the accused visited Grozny and published several photos from there on his pages on social networks.
At a meeting with classmates, Chikalo surprised everyone with his knowledge of elite real estate, especially Argentinean, and expensive cars, two of his acquaintances said. According to them, he showed great interest in these topics, but did not give the impression of a rich man. “I would not say in his appearance and clothes that he is found with large money. Rather, he looked like an ordinary hard worker, ”said the accused's classmate.
“When we last saw each other, the impression of a person who is engaged in the organization of drug trafficks or is involved in this, he did not produce! Moreover, I even paid for him at a meeting of classmates, ”another friend of Chikalo told Republic.
He added that the accused then struck those around him with knowledge of foreign languages: he spoke in English, Spanish and Japanese.
The anti -drug operation, as a result of which 12 suitcases with cocaine with a total weight of 389 kilograms were discovered at the Russian embassy, Argentina’s authorities announced on February 22. Six people are held in the case. Ali Abyanov, Vladimir Kalmykov and Istimir Khujamov, who, according to investigators, were supposed to pick up the load in Moscow, were arrested in mid -December by the decision of the Tver court.
In February, the Argentine law enforcement agencies detained the policeman Buenos Aires Ivan Bliznyuk and Alexander Chikalo. They are indicated on the website of the Russian Honorary Consulate in Mar-D-payment as the president and vice-president of the Mecenas Ortodoxos En Latinoamérica Foundation (Moral, Russian Orthodox philanthropists in Latin America). The investigation is the organizer of delivery from Germany Andrei Kovalchuk, he is put on the wanted list. Kovalchuk himself is sure that the drugs were thrown into his luggage by Argentinean police together with the American intelligence services.
