
The court in Paris left under the arrest of the artist-activist Peter Pavlensky, his ally of Oksana Shalygin reports . This time the meeting was open.
“Today we finally got open doors. It was a victory. And Peter was left under arrest. Since they are very afraid,” Shalygina wrote.
Against the open meeting, the prosecutor protested against the mediatization of the process objected, RFI reports . The artist’s lawyer Dominic Bayilere -Minkov noted that the openness of the hearings is the norm, and the court behind closed doors is an exception.
Pavlensky in court stated that it does not matter to him whether they would leave him in custody or release him. The court argued the decision to extend the arrest by the lack of guarantees that Pavlensky would be at the request of investigators for interrogations, as well as the possibility of a relapse by the accused.
The court session was scheduled for February 22, but it was postponed, since the artist was hospitalized due to the deterioration of his health as a result of a dry hunger strike. The artist stated that the charges were fabricated by order of special services. In May 2017, both emigrants were provided with refugee status .
