Police detained activists who were guarding a meeting of municipal deputies

The police detained Solidarity activists and volunteers who helped guard the meeting of the Krasnoselsky Council of Municipal Deputies. The reason for the detention was a brawl at the entrance to the building. Nadezhda Mityushkina, executive director of Solidarity, reported this to the OVD-Info hotline.

In total, six people were detained, among them activists Mikhail Lashkevich and Vikenty Nilin. According to one of the detainees, several aggressive citizens tried to break into the council meeting. The detainee explained that this is not the first time these people are trying to disrupt the meeting of deputies, because they do not like the new head of the municipal district, politician Ilya Yashin.

After the "provocateurs" could not get to the meeting, they called the police and wrote a statement about the alleged fight. They were not detained.

Now the detainees are in the police department in the Krasnoselsky district. Lawyer Mikhail Biryukov went to the detainees.

UPD 22:08 Nadezhda Mityushkina told OVD-Info that the detainees were released from the police department without protocols.
