A left-wing activist disappeared in Sevastopol

In Sevastopol on the morning of March 1, political and trade union activist Ivan Markov disappeared. This was reported in the “Left-Radical News” group on Facebook.

“According to eyewitnesses, people in uniform broke into his room and, shouting “Lie down, hands on your head!”, dragged him away in an unknown direction. <…> Apparently, he was detained in the context of the ongoing pogrom of leftists in Crimea, connected with the preparation of an action for a boycott of the elections,” the message says.

It is noted that, according to some reports, the activist was transported from the police department in the Leninsky district to the Center for Countering Extremism.

Mediazona reports that they came to Markov’s place to conduct a search.

On the morning of March 1, the families of activists who are members of the group “Anarchists of Sevastopol”, Artem and Alena Vorobyov,came to the apartment with a search. A search also took place in the house of activist Alexey Prysyazhnyuk; masked people with machine guns confiscated his equipment and took him to the police department.

In addition, Medizona reported that the search was probably carried out at the anarchist Alexei Shestakovich - a large number of police officers gathered in front of his house - and Igor Panyuta.

Shestakovich, Prisyazhnyuk and Panyuta were going to apply for an action in support of a boycott of the elections called “The post of president is an atavism of the monarchy.”
