Searches in Crimea: two activists were arrested, four became witnesses in a criminal case

In Sevastopol, after searches, the court gave ten days of administrative arrest to left-wing activistsAlexei Shestakovich and Ivan Markov . Alexey Prisyazhnyuk,Artem Vorobyov and Igor Panyuta were interrogated as witnesses in the case of activist Yevgeny Karakashev, accused under Articles 282 and 205.2 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity and justifying terrorism). Mediazona reports this.

Natalya, Markov’s ex-wife, told OVD-Info that he was arrested on charges of distributing extremist materials. It is unknown which court made the decision; in a conversation with Mediazona, Natalya suggested that it could be the Leninsky District Court.

Aleksey Prisyazhnyuk told Mediazona about Shestakovich’s arrest from the words of the activist’s mother. According to the woman, before her son’s arrest, security forces seized “something similar to weed.” Shestakovich's acquaintances doubt that he could have had drugs, since he did not use them.

A search also took place today in Simferopol at the home of activist Dmitry Kisiev . He also became a witness in the Karakashev case. As journalist Anton Naumlyuk told Mediazona, Kisiev has nothing to do with left-wing activists.

Panyuta told the publication that the search was carried out in the presence of his child and mother with a disability. During the interrogation, the security forces said that the investigative actions concerned Karakashev. At the same time, materials from the 1990s that had nothing to do with Karakashev were confiscated from the activist.

Shestakovich, Prisyazhnyuk and Panyuta were going to apply for an action in support of a boycott of the elections called “The post of president is an atavism of the monarchy.” Everyone except Markov and Kisiev are members of the “Anarchists of Sevastopol” community .
