
The judge of the Staropromyslovsky district court of the Grozny Vakha Mintsaev extended the chairman of the Chechen branch of Memorial Oyub Titiev, against whom the case of drug storage was fabricated, the term of detention in the pre -trial detention center for two months - until May 9. Politsek’s lawyer Peter Zaikin insisted on the release of his client under guarantee, previously declared by two presidential candidates - Grigory Yavlinsky and Ksenia Sobchak. However, Mintsaev took the side of the investigator and the prosecutor.
In September 2017, the same judge sentenced the two young Grozenets - 21 -year -old Magomed Taramov and 19 -year -old Jamalaya Tazbiev - by five years of strict regime of false accusations of intention to leave for Syria and join the Islamic State. In the appeal, the terms were reduced to both political prisoners to three years .
As reported by the Caucasian Knot, Yavlinsky personally arrived at the hearing about the extension of Titiev’s arrest to confirm his guarantee. The candidate was accompanied by his proxies - the chairman of the Civil Assistance Committee Svetlana Gannushkina and the former editor -in -chief of the "new" Dmitry Muratov. Also at the meeting came the head of the program "Memorial" "hot spots" Oleg Orlov.

The 60-year-old Titiev was detained by the Kadyrovites on January 9 and was arrested two days later. Politzeku was charged with part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code (illegal overalls of drugs on a large scale), which provides for 3 to 10 years in a colony. According to the plot of the case, Titiev was in 180 grams of marijuana in the car.
