39 Russian servicemen were killed in the An-26 crash in Syria

As a result of the crash of the An-26 transport aircraft in Syria, 39 people died - 33 passengers and six crew members. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense. All the dead were military personnel.

The Ministry of Defense previously reported 32 victims of the disaster.

The cause of the crash has not yet been established. The Ministry of Defense claims that the plane was not shot down. According to the preliminary version, it crashed due to a technical malfunction.
