In the Soviet district of Rostov-on-Don, the police detained a man who attacked passers-by with a knife. According to Interfax, before being arrested, he managed to injure several people.
Initially, the man threw himself at passing cars and beat them with his fists, and then, threatening with a knife, took one of the passers-by hostage, writes Life. When law enforcement officers arrived on the scene, the man released the hostage and threatened to commit suicide. A local resident helped to detain the criminal, knocking him out with a log.
A TASS source noted that the attacker could be in a state of drug intoxication.
“The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Stachki Avenue and Malinovsky Street. According to preliminary information, the man inflicted injuries on several passers-by, after which he held another person for some time, threatening him with a knife, ”said the agency’s interlocutor.
