The ECHR communicated complaints from employees who worked on “Navalny LIVE” on March 26

The European Court of Human Rights communicated complaints from employees of the company that handled the technical part of the Navalny LIVE broadcast, Ekaterina Kenareva and Vladislav Mosin. From was detained during the action on March 26, 2017. This is reported by MBH Media with reference to the human rights of Open Russia.

The ECtHR asked Russia whether the trial was fair and whether the testimony of the police officers was sufficient to find the detainees guilty. In addition, the court asked whether the applicants had been given the opportunity to add their own exculpatory evidence, such as a video recording.

In the complaints, the defenders pointed out that articles 5 (the right to liberty and security of person) and 6 (the right to a fair trial) of the Convention on Human Rights were violated in relation to Kenareva and Mosin.

Ekaterina Kenareva, assistant director of the broadcast of the rally on the Navalny LIVE Youtube channel, was detained at the office of the Anti-Corruption Foundation and arrested for 7 days for disobeying the police.

• On March 26, 2017, the police came to the office where there were FBK employees and employees who were broadcasting on the Navalny LIVE channel. The police took everyone out, took them to the police department in the Danilovsky district. There, protocols were drawn up on the detainees under part 1 of article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (disobedience to a police officer). The police indicated that Mosin and Kenareva did not leave the building after reports of a planted explosive device and interfered with the work of the investigative team. Everyone was left overnight in the department, and in the morning they were asked to sign new protocols. The reason for the evacuation was changed to fire.

On March 27, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow arrested Ekaterina Kenareva and Vladislav Mosin for 7 days. The Moscow City Court reduced Kenareva's sentence to 6 days

The European Court combined the complaints of Vladislav Mosin and Ekaterina Kenareva together with the appeals of Leonid Volkov, Konstantin Shirokov, Oksana Baulina, Anna Revonenko and Anton Glembo. All of them were detained at the FBK office.
