It’s hard to stop laughing when a ponderous political scientist from TV (you don’t even have to remember the last names, they all became the same, even the intonations are the same for everyone, and the thought is completely the same for everyone) suddenly announces: “The election campaign has entered a decisive phase!” And then they say, for example, that the candidate Maxim Suraikin called for the development of the karting movement. And candidate Boris Titov said that if the standard of living of Russians is raised, then the Russians will be happy, and if they are not raised, then they will not be.
You experience awe, realizing with what giants of thought you had a chance to share an era. Not everyone is so lucky.
Candidate Vladimir Zhirinovsky called for the development of political culture (who should develop it if not Zhirinovsky?), and even candidate Pavel Grudinin said something and called for it to be developed. Or raise. It doesn't matter. It is important that they found five kilograms of gold, a second wife, a third mistress and a warehouse of dead kittens, which the candidate personally strangles in his free time from hiding foreign accounts.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin visited another plant. Not as a candidate, of course, but as a president, so the story about his trip takes not thirty seconds, but ... But what difference does it make, how long it takes, how long it takes, it will take as long as it takes, the air is rubber, the rest will move. Putin walked on water, healed ailments with the laying on of hands, and promised to defend Russia's sovereignty from any outside encroachment. The workers cried and swore eternal loyalty to the president, forgetting even about the unpaid wages.
And also a neighbor - this is no longer on TV - said that at the parent meeting the class ordered everyone to come to the polls, fortunately, a precinct at school, and said that she had a plan to turn out. If the plan is not fulfilled, the class will have trouble, and she is a cool woman, this class, and her parents are not animals, no one wants to create trouble for her.
And on Facebook, there is another story about some students who refused to fill out a form for a mandatory voter turnout and who now will definitely have trouble. And about other students who filled out the questionnaire, but still took the risk of taking a picture and posted the photo on the Internet. They'll probably get in trouble too.
An entire nation, a large nation, inhabiting the largest country in the world, is being insulted by action, being treated like a bunch of imbeciles, while at the same time telling them that the most important elections in the country are coming up.
And in the mailbox, among a pile of bills and flyers of pizza deliverymen, there are two posters from the CEC at once, which say that now, if you apply in a timely manner, you can, of course, vote anywhere. And a newspaper from candidate Grigory Yavlinsky, and a two-page article in the newspaper (apparently about Yavlinsky, although too lazy to read): "A man who could save the USSR." Could, then, but did not save, even though we were lucky in this. For this, Grigory Alekseevich, of course, thank you.
And yet ... Or not, perhaps, still enough. This is all so funny it's not even funny anymore. Calling things by their proper names is simply insulting. A whole nation, a large nation inhabiting the largest country in the world, is insulted by action, being held for a bunch of feeble-minded people, at the same time telling that the most important elections in the country are coming up, which you must definitely come to, appointing those responsible for the turnout, involving janitors in the cause of agitation for the turnout , watchmen, teachers and schoolchildren, not to mention the whole colossus of state media, and at the same time slipping instead of candidates Titov, Suraikin and Sergei Baburin, for some reason extracted from retirement non-existence, and instead of debates - a freak show under the supervision of experienced TV presenters, who, however, , still fails to curb Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the country's chief expert on political culture.
You can make up a city out of people involved in the process of insulting their own people: there are political scientists with TV presenters, and teachers with janitors, and officials from the Central Election Commission, and just officials, and candidates along with headquarters. What is the demand for Titov or Suraykin - these are political misunderstandings, the bosses who invented them for some reason left the presidential administration for new positions long ago, and now the meaning of their existence is a mystery to them, there is no one to ask about the meaning.
Students and even schoolchildren are gradually accustomed to the idea that elections are a degraded institution, a bad production in which, with the exception of the obvious winner, only very funny and not very shy people participate
There was no sense left, there was a shameful, but reliable way to earn a living. They earn. But with the rest, everything is not so simple - for Zhirinovsky and Yavlinsky at least the memory of participation in real political life, for Grudinin - a party from which they once seriously expected a "red revenge" (and she ate a chizhik), for Ksenia Sobchak - courage and claims for a serious future in politics. And since they are not offended by participation in this bad-tasting masquerade, it means that they are in the camp of those who offend, in the same place where TV presenters are with officials, and all the petty bosses, and all the high bosses. They are not victims, it turns out, but accomplices.
And it is doubly not funny that while talking about the need for a breakthrough, expanding the space of freedom, about the aspiration of the motherland to the future of students and even schoolchildren, they gradually accustom them to the idea that elections are a degraded institution, a bad production in which, with the exception of the obvious winner, only very funny and not very shy people.
Those who are in the present are spit in the face, and those for whom the future, this very future, are simply stolen.
