The Central Election Commission did not accredit the journalists of the Leviathan publication, created by the FBK, as observers in the presidential elections. Leviathan was liquidated by a court decision. This was reported in the telegram channel of Alexei Navalny.
“Today we were suddenly told that it [the Leviathan publication] was liquidated by the court and the CEC does not accredit it. Earlier, we received referrals from the CEC for 4,500 observers from Leviathan. Now they are left without directions. Even Churov didn’t do this,” says Navalny.
According to Mediazona, observers from the Molniya mass media may also have problems with accreditation, from which members of the movement for the protection of the rights of voters Golos usually register as observers. Grigory Melkonyants, co-chairman of Golos, said that this time the CEC decided to send a response to the application for accreditation by mail, although earlier Golos representatives were simply invited to pick them up personally. According to Melkonyants, this may indicate that Molniya will also be denied accreditation.
