Pobeda Airlines will allow passengers to use the Internet

Aeroflot's low-cost airline, Pobeda Airlines, has announced a tender for the supply of equipment and software for creating a multimedia entertainment system on board ( drew Vedomosti attention to it). The airline intends to provide passengers with access to the Internet and its own entertainment platform on board. How much it will cost them is still unclear.

Details

• Pobeda is going to create a multimedia entertainment system for its Boeing-737-800 aircraft (so far there are 17 of them, by the end of 2019 there will be 30). In total, the company will spend up to 610 million rubles on this.
• For a fee, the airline will give passengers access to a multimedia entertainment system - at least 10 films in Russian and at least one in English in each of 11 categories - from premieres and series to cartoons. Also in the system will be games, music and video clips.
• The same system will open access to an online store - through it it will be possible to buy electronics and household appliances, books, goods from the "beauty and health" category, etc.
• Entertainment systems on medium-haul aircraft (like Pobeda) in Russia are offered only by Aeroflot. On long-haul liners, the technology is used by the same Aeroflot, its subsidiary Rossiya and charter carriers. True, the latter are often disabled.
• Pobeda will sum up the results of the tender at the end of March, when travelers will be able to use the Internet on board the airline and have fun from the tender documentation is unclear.

Internet on board may be useful to you, the question is how much it will cost. Aeroflot tariffs range from $5 for 15 minutes and 10 Mb to $50 for the entire flight and 150 Mb.
