American Zoos Post Reviews of Their Animals!

On March 9, the Oregon Zoo invited Twitter users to leave feedback on the animals they saw by posting an entry with the hashtag #rateaspecies (“rate a biological species”) in the official microblog.

The tweet was accompanied by a photo of an otter with text about the "first impressions" of communicating with her:

The zoo also praised the owl for good sound production and a spinning top:

Soon the Oregon Zoo was joined by other animal holding centers across America. For example, the Monterey Aquarium published a review of the sea otter - "significantly improved compared to the river version."

A review of an albino crocodile appeared on Twitter from the California Academy of Sciences - the author complains that "the color is not at all the same as in the description."

The Los Angeles Zoo gave a good review (four stars!) to a harmless lion who loves to sleep:

A Twitter user from Los Angeles gave only one star to the frog - the amphibian reminded him of a "spread heap" with its shape.
