Oleg Tabakov died

Today, March 12, in Moscow, at the age of 82, the actor and director of the theater and cinema, the artistic director of the Moscow Art Theater named after A.P. Chekhova Oleg Tabakov.

Oleg Pavlovich Tabakov was born in 1935 in Saratov, in 1953 he entered the Moscow Art Theater School-Studio in Moscow, in 1957 he became one of the founders of the Contemporary Theater, and until the early 1980s was one of its leading artists. He played more than 60 roles on the theater scene, was the director of more than 40 performances.

In the late 1970s, he founded the Tabakerka Theater Studio, in 1983, at the invitation of Oleg Efremov, he moved to the Moscow Art Theater, after his death in 2000 he became the artistic director of the theater.

Since the beginning of the 1970s, he was engaged in teaching, led in GITIS, in 1986–2000 he was the rector of the Moscow Art Theater School, since 2010 he led the open theater college at the “Tabakerka” and he had extended acting in it.

Since the mid-1950s, he starred in the cinema. The actor’s filmography has more than 120 paintings, including “War and Peace” (1968), “Gori, Gori, My Star” (1969), “Production of the Republic” (1971), “Seventeen Moments of Spring” (1973), “D'Artagnan and Three Musketeers” (1978), “A few days from the life of I.I. Oblomova ”(1979),“ Flights in a dream and in reality ”(1982),“ Three stories ”(1997). In addition, Oleg Tabakov voiced about thirty cartoons.
