A volunteer from Navalny’s headquarters was detained in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, police officers detained Yegor Ryabchenko, a volunteer at the strike headquarters, Alexei Navalny. This was reported on the twitter of the headquarters.

It is reported that the metro staff asked Ryabchenko to show the travel card, citing its malfunction. After that, two police officers approached the volunteer, “put him in a car and took him to the police.”

Earlier, employees of the Center for Combating Extremism invited Yegor Ryabchenko for a conversation. In case of refusal, law enforcement officers promised to put him on the wanted list.

Law enforcers cited the participation of a young man in the protest action “Voters' Strike”, which they allegedly learned about from surveillance cameras, as the reason. The employees did not show screenshots from the cameras to Ryabchenko's relative. No one sent Ryabchenko's summons either.

After the student showed his pass at the entrance to the institute, two police officers approached him, put him in a car and drove away. OVD-Info was told about this by a student of St. Petersburg State Technical University, a witness to the incident.

There is still no contact with Yegor Ryabchenko, his whereabouts are unknown.
