
On March 12, on the new stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater, the St. Petersburg Theater Prize for the young “Breakthrough” was awarded for the ninth time. The prize is awarded to directors, actors and theatrical artists not older than 35 years old, which presented experimental and innovative productions on the St. Petersburg stage.
The jury of the Breakthrough Prize, which included leading theatrical critics, famous artists and directors, noted 22 performances in six nominations. List of laureates published on the Prize website :

According to TASS , Nikita Vladimirov devoted his memory a prize of Oleg Tabakov (1935–2018), and actor Evgeny Sannikov asked Muscovites to transfer his award to Kirill Serebrennikov in support of the director.
In addition, the jury of the prize noted by the actress Alice Oleinik for the role of Victor in the play “The Machine goes to the Sea” (the Mansion theater, director Alexei Yankovsky) and the creative team of the play “ The Lension Theater, director Beniamin Kots).
A special prize of the Nomination Council of the award was awarded to the acting ensemble of the play "Birds" (theater named after Lensovet, director Maria Romanova).
Honorary Prize named after A.N. Gubankova “For the promotion of young talents”, established at the VIII of the St. Petersburg Theater Prize for young “Breakthrough”, this year was awarded to the deputy director for creative issues of the Yekaterinburg TSAS, the founder and art director of the real theater festival Oleg Loevsky .
The St. Petersburg Theater Prize for the young “Breakthrough” arose in 2008 as a joint initiative of the Committee on Culture of St. Petersburg, the State Drama Theater “Shelter of a comedian” and theatrical critics of Zhanna Zaretskaya and Andrei Pronin. The task of the award is to encourage and promote young professionals in the St. Petersburg drama scene. “Breakthrough” prefers the work of an innovative or experimental nature, considering his task to support innovative approaches to the development of the theater process.
