Nikolai Glushkov, a friend and business partner of businessman Boris Berezovsky, who received asylum in the UK after criminal prosecution in Russia, died in London. Glushkov’s death was announced by Demyan Kudryavtsev, a member of the board of directors of Vedomosti.
Kudryavtsev told the radio station “Moscow Speaks”: “We have mutual friends, they reported the death. I don’t know anything about the specific reason, but he was an elderly man. He died in London at home."
The Kommersant newspaper reports , citing acquaintances of Glushkov, that signs of strangulation were found on his neck, while it is unclear whether this is a case of murder or suicide.
According to Kommersant's sources, the businessman had health problems. Perhaps these circumstances could have become a reason for suicide. However, the official investigation has only just begun. Mr. Glushkov's house is still cordoned off by the police.
