The Penza court extended the arrest of Vasily Kuksov, a defendant in the case of a terrorist community.

The Leninsky District Court of Penza extended the arrest of Vasily Kuksov, a defendant in the terrorism case, until June 18, 2018. This was reported by an OVD-Info correspondent.

The meeting was held behind closed doors.

On the same day, the court extended the arrest of Dmitry Pchelintsev, another person involved in this case. At that meeting, the head of the investigative team, Valery Tokarev, requested that the meeting be held behind closed doors, which was subsequently approved by the judge.

Kuksov is accused of participating in a terrorist community (Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code). He was arrested in the fall of 2017.

• At the same time, Yegor Zorin was arrested (he was later transferred to house arrest), Ilya Shakursky, Dmitry Pchelintsev, and Andrei Chernov. Arman Sagynbaev was taken from St. Petersburg to Penza and also placed in an isolation ward. All of them were accused of participating in a terrorist community (Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code). According to the FSB, the young people participated in an organization called “Network,” which allegedly has cells in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Penza and Belarus. Network members were allegedly preparing for the outbreak of unrest in the country.
• Those involved in the terrorism case in Penza talked about psychological pressure, electric shock torture, “hanging upside down” and weapons that FSB officers planted on them. After some time, Pchelintsev retracted his statement.
• On January 23, anti-fascist and programmer Viktor Filinkov disappeared in St. Petersburg. Two days later he was found - the press service of the courts wrote that he was arrested and pleaded guilty to participating in the terrorist organization “Network” (Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code). According to the FSB, its participants were allegedly preparing for the outbreak of unrest in the country

On January 25, St. Petersburg resident Igor Shishkin disappeared - he went for a walk with his dog. The dog returned home not alone, but with the security forces, who conducted a search. The Dzerzhinsky court in St. Petersburg arrested Shishkin on the same charges as Filinkov. Investigative actions in St. Petersburg were authorized by one of the district courts of Penza.

Members of the St. Petersburg Public Monitoring Commission recorded traces of torture of those arrested in St. Petersburg. One of the witnesses in the case also spoke about torture.
