Not Carlos, but a jackal

The person who, introducing himself as a dispatcher Carlos, working at the Borispol Kiev Airport, distributed information that the Malaysian Boeing-777 attacked two Ukrainian aircraft in the sky above Donetchina, was Spanish, Jose Carlos Barrios Sanchez, judged in his homeland and arrested for fraud in Romania. This was reported in the joint investigation "Radio Liberty" and the Romanian journalistic group Rise Project.

In total, the Spaniard told reporters, he received 48 thousand euros from Russia. The money was transferred to him by the Russian propaganda television channel RT.

Barrios headed the housing cooperative in the Madrid subway Alcorcon. He appropriated several thousand euros belonging to the cooperative, but in the end he returned this money. In October 2010, the court in Madrid sentenced him to six months in prison.

Barrios left this period only after extradition from Romania. In August 2013, he was detained in Bucharest for fraud. As it turned out, the Spaniard lured the amount from 80 to 130 euros from eight Romanian citizens, promising to arrange these people to work in the airline. However, since at that time Spain put Barrios on the wanted list, the Romanian authorities issued the arrested to their homeland.

On May 9, 2014, RT released an article on his website about the "Carlos dispatcher" from Borispol. The upper part of Barrios's face in the photo in the publication was closed. The Spaniard stated that he was threatened for the "anti -Ukrainian position." “My colleagues were not only about to convey to the authorities that I was expressing my point of view - they called for sending a whole battalion to me to be sent from the country to be killed,” the “dispatcher” said.

July 17, 2014, on the day of the Boeing Disaster, on the @spainbuca Twitter, which was conducted by the Barrios dispatcher, a record appeared: "Military planes flew next to 777 before it disappeared from Radarov, only three minutes." RT immediately referred to this falsification, and other Prochrevsky media , including Russia -24, RIA Novosti, TASS, Channel One, NTV and others.

However, in an interview with journalists, Barrios admitted that he had never worked as an air traffic controller, and also that he was not in Ukraine on the day of Boeing's death.

Cooperation with RT, said the Spaniard, began long before the release of the article about the "dispatcher of Carlos". His task was to publish on his twitter the information that the Russians sent him. He called the fees received for this work "huge."

Meanwhile, the representative of RT in the commentary of the authors of the investigation said that Barrios had never paid the channel.
