In Moscow, a court arrested nine people in the case of organizing an extremist community

The Dorogomilovsky Court of Moscow arrested nine people in the case of organizing an extremist community (Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), OVD-Info reported on the evening of March 16, citing lawyer Maxim Pashkov.

The court remanded them in custody for two months. It follows from the message that the meeting took place on March 16. The Investigative Committee and the court's press service have not yet reported on the case.

According to OVD-Info, those arrested belong to a movement called “New Greatness.” Among them there is a minor girl. The alleged leader of the movement, Ruslan Kostylenkov, an activist named Maria Lapina, a minor girl and her father were detained on March 15. At the same time, the members of the “New Greatness” were searched.

On March 15, the Kremlin Laundress telegram channel (more than four thousand subscribers) published photographs allegedly taken during a search of members of the organization, as well as a video in which a man allegedly answers questions from an operative.

In the video, the man calls himself Ruslan Dmitrievich Kostylenkov and says that he was detained for creating the organization “New Greatness.” He claims that the organization set the goal of “organizing a tribunal over members of the ruling elite” and “abolishing repressive existing laws and the Constitution,” for which it was going to hold rallies and “direct actions against law enforcement officers.”

Previously, an organization called “New Greatness” did not come to the attention of the media. The community of the VKontakte movement includes less than 400 people. Judging by entries in the community, activists distributed leaflets against the current government and the presidential elections.
