Police search the home of a woman who questioned the validity of her ballot.

A voter from Vladivostok, Larisa Lapir, who doubted the validity of the ballot issued to her at the polling station, was searched by the police. Yulia Stadnichuk, a representative of the social movement Save Your Bulletin, informed OVD-Info about this.

As Stadnichuk explained, the woman, having received the ballot and noticing violations in its design, took it out of the polling station and took it home. Already from the house, Lapir called the police so that the law enforcement officers examined the paper and drew up a protocol.

As a result, the arriving policemen, having seen Lapir's ballot, considered it a violation to take it out of the polling station. They rudely announced that they were going to conduct a search in the voter's apartment.

Currently, law enforcement officers are at the woman's home. “Today we have already encountered situations when stamps were incorrectly pasted on the ballot, stamps and signatures were incorrectly applied,” Stadnichuk explains the actions of the activist. She recalls that forging ballot papers is a criminal offense, and its incorrect execution can invalidate the vote of the voter. The Save Your Ballot movement sees ballot removal from polling stations as an alternative to failing to show up for elections or damaging the paper.

Supporters of the movement emphasize that federal law does not provide for liability for the removal of a ballot, and therefore, this action is not an offense.

According to Stadnichuk, another activist of the movement, Roman Filippov, was detained in Voronezh while trying to take out his ballot.

UPD: Filippov was taken to police department No. 3 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Voronezh (Levoberezhny District), where a protocol was drawn up against him under Art. 5.64 of the Code of Administrative Offenses "impeding the implementation of the actions of the election commission." He is currently being taken to court.
