In St. Petersburg, Vladimir Shipitsyn was detained, who was standing next to a picketer opposing the elections. OVD-Info was told about this by Yevgenia Kulakova from the “Detainee Assistance Group”.
Shipitsyn was detained at the intersection of Nevsky Prospekt and Malaya Sadovaya Street. Shipitsyn told the Detained Aid Group that he was standing next to the picketer when he was attacked by an unknown man and woman and started beating him. Shipitsyn, defensively, squirted pepper gas from a canister.
The police arrived, they detained the attackers and Shipitsyn. They were taken to police department No. 78. There, a protocol on petty hooliganism was drawn up against Shipitsyn (Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), and the attackers were released. Shipitsyn's statement about the attack was not accepted. Tomorrow, a hearing on his case will be held at the Dzerzhinsky District Court.
UPD According to the coalition "Democratic Petersburg", a series of single pickets were held by "Strategy - 18", they were dedicated to the Crimean Tatars, and not to the elections, as OVD-Info reported earlier.
The coalition's message in the Vkontakte group says that at first a man and a woman attacked picketer Mikhail Gerasimov, and Shipitsyn began to defend him.
