Sobchak gave Putin a list of political prisoners
Former Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak handed over to the incumbent head of state and election winner Vladimir Putin a list of 16 people she considers to be political prisoners. This was reported by her confidant, political strategist Marina Litvinovich.
“Putin promised to consider this list. There is some hope,” Litvinovich wrote on Facebook.
The list included:
- defendants in the March 26 case Dmitry Borisov, Stanislav Zimovets, Alexey Politikov, Alexander Shpakov;
- Oleg Navalny, convicted in the Yves Rocher case;
- Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko, convicted on charges of terrorism;
- 76-year-old employee of TsNIIMash Vladimir Lapygin and air traffic controller Pyotr Parpulov , convicted of treason;
- RBC journalist Alexander Sokolov and Valery Parfenov, convicted in the case of the referendum "For Responsible Power";
- former Yukos employee Alexei Pichugin, serving a life sentence for murder;
- a blogger from Tomsk, Vadim Tyumentsev, convicted of publishing videos on the Internet;
- activist of the "Other Russia" Yuri Staroverov, convicted of using violence against a policeman during a rally in Nizhny Novgorod;
- activist Sergei Mokhnatkin, convicted in several criminal cases ;
- member of the Communist Party Sergei Reznikov, convicted under the article on possession of drugs.
According to Litvinovich, the main point of Sobchak's meeting with him was to hand over the list to Putin and "demand to release" these people.
Another former presidential candidate Boris Titov, in turn, handed over to Putin the "full version" of the list of entrepreneurs who are hiding in London from criminal prosecution in Russia, but, according to him, want to return .
- Vladimir Putin won the March 18 Russian presidential election with over 76% of the vote. Communist Party candidate Pavel Grudinin won 11.8% of the vote, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky - 5.6%. The remaining candidates received less than two percent of the vote. Ksenia Sobchak was supported by 1.67% of voters.
