In Moscow, a voting member of the electoral commission was arrested for seven days

The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow arrested Valery Nadezhdin, a voting member of the precinct election commission, for seven days. Grigory Simakov reported this on Nadezhdin’s Facebook page.

Thus, the court sided with the police who drew up a report against Nadezhdin under Art. 20.1 Code of Administrative Offenses (petty hooliganism). The judge refused to hear defense witnesses, limiting herself to the testimony of activists of the pro-Kremlin movement SERB, after a conflict with whom Nadezhdin was detained on March 12.

On March 16, Nadezhdin was forcibly brought to court. But then the meeting was postponed due to the fact that the case materials did not contain the sanction of the prosecutor, without which a member of the precinct election commission with the right to a decisive vote cannot be tried.

UPD 17:06 Nadezhdin is in special detention center No. 2 of the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate.

• Valery Nadezhdin and six other people were detained on March 12 during the reading of the Constitution on Triumfalnaya Square. The police drew up a report against him for violating the procedure for holding a rally (Part 5, Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) and petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code). The activist spent time at the police station, after which he was released.
