Nadezhda Savchenko was detained in the building of the Rada, reports on Thursday, March 2, RTVi . Before that, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decided to lift her parliamentary immunity.
Yuriy Lutsenko, Prosecutor General of Ukraine, asked to remove the immunity from Savchenko. According to him, she personally planned a terrorist attack in the building of the Ukrainian parliament. Lutsenko spoke at a meeting of parliament, where the issue of lifting immunity was decided. He provided the deputies with a video recording containing evidence of the former soldier's involvement in the preparation of terrorist attacks in Ukraine. The video shows Savchenko's negotiations regarding the transportation of weapons from the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.
On March 5, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine submitted a submission to the Verkhovna Rada for the arrest of Savchenko. The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that she was suspected of complicity in preparing a coup d'état in Ukraine.
